Sedation Dentistry in Dallas
Do you postpone or avoid dental visits because they cause you stress and anxiety? Have bad experiences made you fearful of pain during dental procedures? You aren’t alone. About half of Americans don’t go to the dentist regularly, and many of these people feel just like you do. As a sedation dentist in Dallas, I can provide various levels of medication that will give you peace of mind and body, so you can receive the dental work you need.
Sedation dentistry may involve nitrous oxide, a gas inhaled through a mask; oral anti-anxiety medications, like halcyon or valium; or a combination of these medications. These types of sedation work very well in most cases. However, for more significant effects, I may recommend conscious intravenous (IV) sedation. Sometimes conscious IV sedation is called twilight sedation because the patient does not completely go to sleep, but enjoys a very relaxed and near-sleep state of consciousness.
Let’s talk about why you don’t like dental visits so that we can choose the right solution to help you overcome the problem. Whether it’s a sensitive gag reflex, an inability to numb with traditional anesthesia, physical discomfort in the dental chair, control issues, or general stress and fear, I can help – and I want to help. You deserve a healthy smile, so give me a call today. Call my LBJ office at 972-934-1400 to schedule your visit.
