Back to Basics: What to Expect at Your First Appointment at LynnDentalCare.com
The reach of the dental world has greatly expanded in the past decade or so. Thanks to new technology and training, there is a fix or treatment for nearly every dental situation out there. I’m Dr. Brock Lynn of Lynn Dental Care, and I have the ability to give you a healthy, restored, and beautiful smile here at my office.
The extensive list of dental procedures can be pretty overwhelming, so I want to get back to basics. Before any dental work can be done, you need to come in for an appointment. My team and I want you to be as comfortable as possible in our office so that we can give you the best care possible. Knowing what to expect at your first appointment is a great place to start.
Your initial appointment will be a consultation where I explain your diagnosis and treatment options. I want to hear your personal dental goals and concerns so that I can design a treatment plan that you are comfortable with and that will you give you the results you are looking for.
Prior to the appointment, I ask that you complete the new patient forms and mail, email, or fax them to my office. I will ask you about your medical and dental history at this appointment. Please bring a list of any medications you are currently taking, your dental insurance card, and any X-rays, if applicable, to your appointment. It is important to tell me if you have a medical condition that may be a concern prior to surgery, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves, and others. My team and I make your health our top priority, so we want to make sure that we are prepared to give you the specific care you need.
Also, it is important to know that a preoperative consultation and physical examination is mandatory for patients undergoing I.V. anesthesia for treatment. Please have nothing to eat or drink during the eight hours prior to surgery. A responsible adult will need to accompany you to the appointment and drive you home.
