A New Year’s Resolution for a Better You
Happy New Year! I hope 2014 is already bringing happiness and good fortune to you and your loved ones.
A new year signifies a chance to start fresh and be better than we were the year before. This is why people set new year’s resolutions. Resolutions can be anything from losing weight, to buying a new home, to graduating from school, and everything in between, but they all have one thing in common. You must stick to them to achieve them.
I am Dr. Brock Lynn of Lynn Dental Care in Dallas, and I have a challenge for you. This year, try to be the best version of yourself that you can be. While much of this challenge is based on personal and emotional areas of your life, I want you to pay close attention to your physical well being.
I encourage you to set weight goals, develop exercise plans, and eat healthy. I encourage you to stop smoking, be active for at least half an hour a day, and do anything it takes to achieve the resolutions you have set for this year, but I want to remind you of something very important. Don’t let your oral health fall by wayside.
Oral health is a huge component of overall health. Did you know that gum disease has been proven to contribute to heart disease and stroke, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, preterm birth, and Alzheimer’s disease? Just having regular dental check-ups every six months and continuing healthy dental habits at home is the best protection against gum disease and other oral issues.
This year, I encourage you to exercise your right to a healthy and beautiful smile. If this means getting the veneers you have been contemplating for a while, I am here to help. If this means having the dental cleaning you are long overdue for, come on in!
My team and I here at Lynn Dental Care want to help you achieve your resolutions. To schedule an appointment, please contact my Dallas office.
